Anemone ID pls

Hello all!

A buddy of mine got this anemone he is giving to me.. Neither him or i know the name or what type of anemone it is.. Trying to get an ID on this anemone if possible...

Also should i risk adding it in my tank? He had multiple ich issue about about 7 months ago and the most recent was 3 months ago.. He also had an aiptasia outbreak about a month ago.. Asking cuz i dont know if anemones can transfer or carry any ich or aiptasia or diseases in general.

You can add it to your tank it won’t carry anything over as long as you keep his water out as for id im not sure hopefully someone will chime in and help

Agreed, and a very cool one, IMO. I think the white bases are neat.

Anything i should know about these nems? Aggressive? Hard to care? I been doing this for 3 years now and i been looking for a good size nem for my clarkiis.. They hosted a bubble nem but they're too big for it

These are one of the best hosting anemones available, compatible with a wide range of clownfish, and not particularly dangerous compared to, say, carpet anemones. They are very sensitive to infection when getting established in a new tank, but are pretty hardy once they are settled. They like lots of light, lots of flow, and prefer a flat topped rock at the highest point on the rockwork.

If this is your first attempt at a nem i wouldn’t go for it. They do require a ton of light and like stated many get sick

H. magnifica requires high light high flow, in the upper SPS range. It needs to be at the highest part of the rock structure and cannot touch the side. If it does not have enough light and flow, it may start walking. It host almost every clownfish there is. It normally does not eat fish, but more smaller preys. If it walk into a Power head, it likely wipe out our fish in the tank but does not affect inverts.
