Anemone ID

Can someone help ID this anemone? Has a long base attached to rock. I got the tank as is from a friend who moved. It has split several times and is taking over the tank. I’m thinking I might need to remove a couple.

hi,welcome to the reef...
if i'm not mistaken ,this is a leather finger coral 99.9%.
pic under whites could help confirm .

This looks to be a branching leather coral, if I'm looking at the right thing. Not an anemone, but still an awesome showpiece.

This is the only anenome I could possibly make out. Looks like a mini maxi that is cupping up. Trying to get more light.

Thanks for all the replies! I believe y’all are correct. I was looking in all the wrong places. I will take a picture of the tank under white light for help identifying the other invertebrates. This tank has some spiny looking worms as well that only come out at feeding. Unfortunately I have no way of asking the previous owner about the species in the tank.

See what y’all think! I found what looks like more coral on the side glass.

More pics of the coral, it is soft and sways with the current, retracts when agitated and at night.

Some kind of polyps maybe?

Maybe the only anemone I have lol

And some kind of lobster with quite the tunnel system

First pic looks like Manjano Nems (pest in most tanks). This is a great little tank you got with some really nice pieces in there! Happy reefing!!

lobster looking thing is a pistol shrimp. you likely hear clicking occasionally and at night.
mushroom coral on the bottom along with the GSP. GSP can take over your whole rockscape so be careful
finger leather is correct and you can just get a razor blade and cut away.

This explains a lot! I thought I was hearing either the tank cracking or the stand about to give out I’ll sleep better tonight lol. Just read up on pistol shrimp and what an incredible animal!
I’m hoping my LFS will want to take some leather coral for trade in. It is a little crowded but has worked well for the current inhabitants

I went to stand the clam up and learned he had left the building a long time ago Are they beneficial enough to get another?

I would hold off rt now, do a little research, you'll know when time is right.
PS: don't just toss shell, put in chamber,out of sight behind rocks,??
will slowly breakdown as calcium.

Thank you! I think you’re right, I just noticed one of the hermits has a majano on his back! I’m really enjoying this little reef and the help of this forum

I’m mostly asking questions but definitely not trolling haha. Tank was stocked at least 5 years ago, not by me. I came here looking to ID the inhabitants and get advice on care. So far I was wrong on everything but that’s never stopped me from learning.

Yes, I agree, it’s either a mini maxi or a large hairy shroom! The pistol appears to be a tiger pistol, the one I had decimated my cuc numbers!

5 years old thriving tank that has GHA and a little cyano in it, how can that be? Maybe that stuff is just part of a thriving reef tank left to do it's thing.

You can definitely cut Some of the leather and trade it to local reefers or your LFS. You have a well established tank so you’re off to a great start. I think you’d get s lot of enjoyment out of a yellow watchman goby. They’re cheap and have a symbiotic relationship with the pistol shrimp. Zoas are super easy, grow like weeds, and add a lot of color.
