Anemone ID

Hello Reefers,

Can anyone please ID this tiny anemone?

It is sitting next to a vermetid snail :-/

Not much of a coral expert, but the polyp reminds me of a juvenile sun coral. Pest Aiptasia anemones are much more brown in coloration.

I am old school but my motto if I cannot 100% ID something it gets removed out of the tank. Corals and fish are far too expensive to chance over a unknown little anemone.

I agree and am gonna say that it's wither a sun coral polyp or a dendro.
If.its a dendro wooohoooo! Lol.

Yea, I think you’re all correct, looks like a baby sun coral polyp. It’s starting to close in the day and open at night. I’m gonna keep an eye on it.

I actually wanted to get a sun coral for my little cave spot, but held back due to feeding requirements (although I heavily feed my corals anyway). It this little guy does well I might go for it.
