I took in an anenome from a friend. She was waiting for it to die, it didn't want to eat anymore. I had it for a week now. I've been researching and posting about it. Others have identified it as a sebae. I just want to confirm. I would also like to know if it's colors are correct. I was told there are no white sebaes. I am fairly new to this so any advice is great advice!

Sorry for the blurry pictures, my phones camera is really scratched up!

Kinda Yeah, I've been looking up anemones and can't find anything like this, even the color. I'm stumped!

I've been doubting the sebae. I can't find any online that look this unless it's how they look when they're young and small. I'm wondering. If it's bleached or not? I'm just so curious,

I don't believe that it is an H. crispa (( "sebea" is a common name for that, also for H. malu )).

Is the underside of the oral disc smooth or does it have little "bumps"?

Might even be an S. gigantea, but that would be a stretch at this point. Hard to ID with a bleached anemone --- which this is. Also, it appears that it has been consuming itself for energy.

What size tank?
What lights do you have? (( going to need to acclimate it to your lights ))
How long has your tank been set up?
What are your current parameters --- with numbers please.

The oral disc is smooth. It also has little purple dots at the top of the foot. What do you mean "consuming itself for energy"? Sorry I'm new to this. He's been eating good, I'm feeding him mysis shrimp and tubifex worms.

10 gallon nano
LED light
I've had the tank for a year, but the guy before me had it for several years. Very well established.
Parameters are all good. Checking them every day with no fluctuations.
PH - 8.4
Temperature 79 f
Salt - 1.024
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 0

This is him today. Lights just went out.

Looks like a carpet anemone of some kind. Sorry I don't know the specific names. I had one with similar colors and looks.

When you get a chance, a pic of those purple dots --- leaning a bit more towards a Gig, but not sure yet.

When an anemone isn't given enough light/food they will start to consume themselves for energy --- the shorter tentacles and it being bleached make me think this.

A 10 gallon will be too small long term.

What LED lights?

EDIT, didn't see that last pic. Stronger leaning towards a Gig --- very difficult to care for, lots of flow, lots of light, and pristine water conditions.

Yeah I realize a 10 is way too small..... I'm currently getting a 40 setup. It's not quite ready yet. Hoping this little guy will last long enough until that time! Does it make a difference is my clowns are taking good care of it? Theyve been very good to it.

Sorry I'm quite new to this!

Some more pictures....
