anemone in reef tank

that i can't help with, i have a haddoni as well and have been told that clarkii's are good hosts for them....not sure about a maroon though...

What lights do you have?

Do you have a sandbed? If so, how deep is it?

What do you have for flow?

What other fish/inverts do you plan on keeping?

Do you want a sandbed or rock dwelling anemone?

I have had at least one anemone in my reef tanks for the last 20 years, and can't imagine not having one in there. For the most part I stick with sandbed dwelling anemones (( S. haddoni or M. doreensis )), tried rock dwelling (( E. quadricolor )), but they take up too much real estate for my liking. Plus, don't like that they can split.

The trick (( at least for my tanks )) has been keeping the flow low enough for the S. haddonis, but high enough for the SPS. Years ago I able to keep a happy balance (( took the tank down when I moved ));

I have had a nem in my mixed reef tank for at least a year I have two now. I had one issue with a coral getting stung and just moved it. Once the nem finds a place it likes it won't really move unless something causes it to no longer like that place. (Changes in flow light etc..) that being said my clowns have never host either of my nems, instead they move from my Duncan to a Candycane coral I have and host those. Clowns are very likely to host all kinds of lps, but there not really a good way to coax them into it they just kinda do when they want to.

I never kept anemones with my sps systems. Mainly due to the chance of them moving. However, in my gorg, I have lots of nems. With LPS, just be wary of them moving especially if you have prize chalices. :)

Clowns are crazy. My ocellaris took 7 months to find my BTA, now they are happy as can be. Now, my Maldives Skunks still cannot decide after a year. They had a nem and ignored it. Now they like the large clam, my sinularia, and my toadstool. They keep flittering between. I think I may get a carpet nem in Feb and hope they make that their home.

Clowns will host what they want, when they want. If yours are babies, give it time. They will probably love the hammer or frogspawn.

I have 4 bta in my 75g. Its loaded with coral. Havent had one problem. (Knock on wood) i have noticed after a few days of wandering around, they stay put.

I purchased 2 BTAs for my 75. They wandered and detached for about 2 months. They finally found a spot they liked. I thought I was going to loose both of them at one point. They both came around and have split once, so now there's 4. I love them, but one located right next to a colony of Green Star Polyps which I could only move half of it.

By the way, I have 2 Black Perculas that have not shown any interest in the Nems. I know they are the wrong species for BTAs, but some people have had some success. The Clowns were in the tank first.

i have 2 tomatos and an condy
condy's supposedly move more than other anemones and he moves around for sure but stays within like a 3 inch radius and goes back and forth
im going to add another anemone but i think im going to try another kind and add 2 clowns with him, within the next few days to week and see what they do then add corals to the top of my rocks...
i have xenia and mushrooms and theyre all good at the moment

I have two clowns and they are hosting my flowerpot coral and they love it and the flowerpot got use too them after a couple of days and all is well. Tried a nem. They just move to much for me and their favorite spot is not where you want them in my experience.
