Can someone ID please. I can't tell if LTA or Condy. It's huge though maybe 10" across.

Welcome to R2R!

I'm not 100% sure which it is. But almost all the more white tentacle Condy nems that I've seen at least have some purple at the tips. But I don't think that makes for a sure thing ID.

So lets look for some help. #ReefSquad

Agreed we need to see the foot, but I am kinda thinking it is neither and I am leaning towards bta.
I hope so lol. It was sold to me as a bta by a very knowlegable source but A. my clowns wont touch it and B. It doesnt really bubble at the tips. Just trying to verify this as it is in my mixed reef and I didnt really want it to be a nuisance if it wasnt worth it lol. Been in reefing for 15+ years but new to anemones

I do not see an speckling on the bottom side or any pink/red on what can be seen on the foot. So LTA is getting booted at the moment, as LTA (at least all mine) have speckling on the bottom side that goes down to where the foot becomes pink/red.

Looking at the bottom side, the "vertical lines" make me lean more towards a green BTA. And under whites, your nem looks just like my green bta I have in my tank at the office. My nem also has those same vertical lines.

For the bubbling, not all of them do it. It is highly argued about, notice I did not say debated lol. I have some BTAs that have long tentacles that flow in the waves, others that are bubbly, and others that are an in between. They are all in the same area of the tank, same light and flow. They pretty much do what they do lol. EDIT: Meant to add, they are all clones from the first one also.

As for the clowns, it may take some time before they go near it. I have had clowns that as soon as they hit the tank, they start trying to make sure the nem will let them host it. Others that never host a nem and prefer a powerehead, and other that take some time to find it and try to see if it will let them host it.

From your picture I agree it appears to be a gbta and when your clowns are ready they will take to your nem. Bubbles happen and no one really knows why I have quite a few btas some bubble some don’t.

Oh and welcome to R2R you’ll love it here.

Thank you

What type of clownfish do you have? If they are percula or ocellaris there is a good chance that they never will go into a bubble tip as it is not their natural host anemone.

I actually have 2 pair that reside on other sides of the tank. I have a pair of ocellaris and a pair of skunk.

I agree that anemone is a BTA. The white line fro the center of the mouth separate it from H. magnifica and also some of the tentacles have dilation, bulb formation behind the tip.
