Anemone moved where I can't see him

Got a new anemone last light (I'm new, tank is established). And he crawled down into a rock canyon. I can't see him and the clownfish have no idea he's down there. Can I flip the rock he's on to make him visible. Don't want to stress him.

Generally when they do this there is too much bright light and/or water flow
Medium light and moderate water flow

I would let it settle in, it may take a few days.

What Kind of anemone is it if you dont mind me asking? I have bubble tips and rock flowers, and they move to a happy spot wherever they please regardless if you move them somewhere else. I wouldnt be worried just based off of it moving, unless you have crazy high lighting that is.

The lighting is just a basic led strip at the moment. I have a adjustable reef light that I'm about to hang over it. It's a long tentacled.

Light is a basic led strip but have an adjustable led box light that I was going to hang today. Flow is actually kinda low. I turned off the one jet, is just a hob filter and a protein skimmer.

Its possible the LED strip is putting off too much white light. nems need a broad spectrum light, they get most of their energy from their relationship with zoox inside of them. your new light may help a ton.

Also you never said what type of nem it is. And it could be some time/ never that the clowns host the nem. Sometimes they just host a corner of the tank or a powerhead or in my case, my heater.

It's a long tentacle, kinda small. I have two tomato clowns.

My guess is too harsh of white light. Nems are finicky and odd creatures at times. I Would continue swapping your light and then if possible get a more suitable reef style light for the future. Light is incredibly important for nems. There are tons of budget friendly reef lights out there on amazon alone. I have two Nicrew 150w on my 60 breeder. Theyre 185 each if I remember correctly.

I bought one of those box lights so not the best but much better. Had been lazy hanging it up. Hubby us working on it now.

let it settle and be where it wants, follow vette guys advice too. Also, Tank age? what kind of Nem?

Tank is about a year, long tentacled anemone

I agree, best course is to put your light up, its going to need it and just let it be. Test your params too, Nems as well need some nitrates just to be sure they arent zeros across the board.

My nitrates are at 5ppm

5 ppm isnt bad I try to keep mine 10 to 15 ppm but we all know its easier said than done.

Long tentacle should be in the sand. How deep is your sand bed? When I kept them I had 3-4 inches of sand or more. I used to pace them where I hoped they would stay and then kind of corral them in with rocks and hope they attached to the glass bottom where LT nems normally attach. I have never had one stay attached to a rock for very long. They are totally different than bubble tips in my experience. Nitrates where always on the high side 20ish and never had trouble keeping nems. The one shown is against the rocks but its foot is attached to the glass bottom.
