This is an emergency because it will start killing coral very soon.

I need this gone now or it will have to be taken out. It has been pleasantly perched in safe distance from my corals, but this afternoon it decided to move, thankfully away from coral. It is a healthy 8-10inches, it grew up in a nanotank Fluval, then moved to a 30 gallon. I would hate to have to let it die, but might not have any choice.

If someone can't get it in the next few hours can't you put it in a bucket with a heater and air stone at least? Give someone a few days to find it a new home.
Yeah, I cut a water jug in half and trapped it in there now. It can't move anymore, I don't know how long it will like being in there.

Ahhhhhh maybe dont put a nem in a 30 gallon if you are concerned about coral and are willing to kill the nem to protect said coral. The simple and humane solution would have been to just move the coral.

Just have to say, while a nem is a living creature, it does not have anyway to process anything to do with being trapped. It’s works on instincts. It doesnt care whether or not something is “humane”. It can’t tell the difference in that way. Also base on your logic...what if the coral doesn’t want to be moved...is that not humane.

Perhaps you missed the part where he said he might have to kill it. I also repeated that part. Also, just bc a nem doesnt know its trapped doesnt mean it isnt harmful. You wouldn't know if it is uncomfortable or not because it cant move!
Also, there is really no comparison moving coral vs moving a bta attached to rock. One can be done quickly and easily with minimal stress to the animal, the other is pretty much the opposite.

I have had the anemone for over a year now. It has had a very loving home. It thrived and did well in a 5 gallon fluval, then I moved it to a 30 gal cube. I kept no coral in the tank for over 4 months to make sure anemone found a place to stay and didn’t move the entire time. I started introducing coal a couple months ago and just the other day the anemone started to move.

It is currently trapped in half milk jug. Hoping someone would want it for free by the end of this weekend.

Take it to your lfs before you kill it

And if nobody wants it by the end of the weekend? You plan to kill it? Indefensible imo.

i will again.... I took it to them when it was too big for the 5 gallon. Funny thing is that I was actually able to talk my wife into the 30gal because it didn’t look like it was doing very well in the move to the lfs. We took it back home and note it definitely has to go... won’t be able to get a bigger tank this time...

im sorry i hope i dont get kicked from r2r for this but it looks like you have 6 or 7 basic corals, and one amazing nem and youre going to killl it?

the most ridiculous thread ive ever seen.

move your little candycane to the sand and let the nem settle back in.

Where are you located? I would be happy to have it, maybe you can mail it to NC?

Yeah what state do you live? We might be able to rehome it real quick here.
