Hi all,

I am very aware that this picture and video might be too low quality to get an ID, but, can anybody tell if the blue and yellow thing is an anemone or some kind of paly/zoa? it came in as a hitchhiker on live rock from FL.

thanks! 6BB8F61D-7C73-4A2B-B5E5-A2D85B991B26.jpeg

Oh no! That looks like aiptasia. I hope I'm wrong.

Thanks everybody. Here’s another picture. Still think it’s a Majano? I can’t find any pictures of Majanos that have this coloration on google but I know that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. It also looks like most Majanos have more tentacles? Written descriptions say they look like baby bubble tip anemones. This one just has the one or two rows. Are there other anemones that could be growing in the Gulf of Mexico?

Oh I agree that mine doesn’t look like a bubble tip. I just kept reading that Majanos look like small bubble tip anemones which is why I was curious if mine might be something else instead. Anyway, thanks for the ID. I’ll get rid of it.
