Already did battle with aiptasia (berghia are bad *****) and got rid of some rock with green colonizing hydroids. Just saw this little patch when I turned off my return and power head to feed. Anyone have a confident answer? Tucked away on the back of my rockwork... (Always a little scary holding my phone over the tank to get a pic...)

Blue Clove it looks like. Hopefully not. I would try to get that rock out asap and cut that part of the rock off

Unfortunately that single rock is the largest in my scape, and is the foundation for all of the others... It's on the back of the rock, almost out of sight, and just popped up recently. I might go the scalpel route and then plop some epoxy or glue over the patch. Interestingly, I've been thinking about getting some clove and isolating them on a rock in the substrate. Will they detach and spread like an anthelia (pulled out a patch of that--and the rock it rode in on--several weeks ago...)

Let me show you pictures of my nightmare. It was everywhere took over everything smothered all my Corals before I realized what it was. Clove polyps

Blue sympodium grows slow , blue cloves grow a lot faster .
If your willing to chance it , then it's up to you .
If it were "Me" I would epoxy them pronto .....

I would hate see you medicate your tank to get rid of those , if they are blue cloves .
The "ONLY" things that happens fast in this hobby ,are all the negative situations .

Whelp, those pics about settle it. Scalpel and epoxy it is. And probably this afternoon!!! Thanks all!

Just put the putty right over them with a little force to make it stick and seal them up .
No scapel, you might dislodge some and the whole process starts over again
