anemone problems

hello i am new here and dont know exactly where to put this put i am new to anemones and when i came home from work today and the anemone started like eating itself I guess does anyone know why this happened and what to do?

They shrivel up like that periodically, especially at night. It's normal.

However, your water looks rather cloudy in the picture. Is that normal? If not, you may be experiencing a bacterial bloom that is irritating your nem. A UV sterilizer will clear this up.
 
How long have you had the anemone, has this happened before, and how long has the tank been set up?
 
Leaving anemones alone is the best practice. They will find a happy spot (but maybe not yours) Your tank is a little too new to be stable enough for an anemone. Usually 6 months is the recommended time before addition of such. Concern is , your tank is subject to ammonia and nitrate spikes and the anemone may actually weather the coming ammonia spike better than the clowns do but it will shrivel, expelling water, until the ammonia goes away. You need to test for alkalinity, nitrate, and ammonia.
Salifert and hanna are good brand kits and are easy to use. Lighting and flow are also vital to the anemone. I must ask, How did you acclimate (introduce it)and for how long ?
