So I learned the hard way last week (call me crazy) but I’m pretty sure an anemone brought ich to my tank :(

My DT had copper for almost 3 months, and then everything was perfect for 2 months afterwards as I took out the copper and slowly introduced inverts, pods, starfish and 2 anemones.
And then a couple weeks after adding an anemone Ich popped up on 2 of my fish, and now I had to remove all my
Inverts, anemone etc and Re copper
The tank :(

Super ticked, but my question is, what’s the right way to introduce anemones in future?

I’m assuming it didn’t come from my snails, starfish or mushrooms, as they don’t really drink and expel water.
And I always shook them in my own water before adding to the tank..

Are you sure your copper protocol was correct? Copper treatments in tank are hard due to absorption. If you didn't maintain 2.0 or higher for a full 30 days non stop, you may have never gotten rid of the original ich.

It could certainly come from snails or anything else. Ich goes through several forms during its life cycle, including free swimming and cysts on solid surfaces.

Once your tank is pathogen free, you will realistically need to quarantine all additions, even including live rock.

I checked every 1-2 days and maintained it..

But what @kenchilada said makes sense..

My question is, what sort of quarantine do these inverts need?

While I’m at it,
I’m seeing this poop for the first time on the flame.
He didn’t eat so much yesterday, but seems to have eaten more today so I’m hoping it’s passing..

any idea what it could be, and if I need to act quickly?

This is mucus in the feces. What food(s) are you feeding it?

I’m feeding Frozen spirulina brine, frozen Mysis & pellets.
Spirulina brine in the morning, and mysis in the evening. And pellets with both meals

After making that poop, he ate like crazy just now. So I’m hoping that that passed??

I did just add copper 4 days ago, so I’m not sure if there was any pods or whatever die off that the fish ate

That diet high in fats will mimic internal issue
As stated, excess mucus. Add Pellets and LRS fish frenzy to your diet

Thank you!
So my current schedule is:

Morning - Spirulina Brine and Pellets
Evening - Mysis and Pellets.

Should I make Mysis every 2 or 3 days instead?

And is the spirulina brine also fatty?
Or that’s fine to keep daily?

Brine somewhat but also good for digestion
Mysis - 2x a week
