anemone question

hello all
I have a quick question. I was talked into buying a anemone without knowing the details on caring for one. Placed it in my live rock salt water tank where it seemed happy for about a week. Then it disappeared. We have searched every where and can't locate it. Has anyone else had this happen? If so what is the deal here? It's about to drive us crazy trying to locate it. any thoughts or help would be appreciated

Nope. But we have searched every inch of it with flash lights at night and searched during the daytime as well.
Is it possible for it to fit in very small holes in the rock? We have looked in every nook we can see into. We have looked front and back and under and in any possible opening. We have looked in the sand the plant life and where our sneakiest fish hide that are anti social. We have turned over taken out and broken sea shells. Nothing!

Thank-You! So it's not true that an anemone will wipe out the whole tank if it dies in there? OMG! Seriously? Thanks you guys for answering my question. I really appreciate it!

Could be hiding out "under" a rock. Could be inna hole in the rock. It may surface soon where you least expect it.
