What does it mean when anemone is going from wide open and beautiful during the day then shrinks and looks like it tightens up during the evening.
Does it have something to do with the lighting?
Parameters are all good .
All I have in my tank are two baby clown fish that host it
1 emerald clown and 4 snails

Lighting does play a role as they depend on zoxanthelle for energy and color. They will shrink in the evening upon lights out and be shrunken in the morning fill when lights are on
Lighting is a very important aspect of their care. These creatures need a lot of light to thrive because they’re photosynthetic which means that they absorb light to produce food and growth. The anemone has zooxanthellae in its body, which are symbiotic microorganisms that they feed on. Without proper lighting, the anemone will expel the zooxanthellae and turn white. This process is called bleaching and often leads to death.
A moderate amount of flow is recommended. Many aquarists agree that too much flow will cause the anemone to stretch out and look stringy. Keeping things moderate will help avoid this from happening. Avoid directing your flow directly at the anemone. These creatures enjoy subtle movement at all times but too much direct flow hitting the anemone will force it to move.

I have my flow bouncing off the side of the tank so he is just getting soft wave like movement.

That should be fine. Lighting is more important and remember to feed occasionally- Mysis shrimp is an excellent food.

Sounds like normal anemone behavior

Right now my anemone has gone in the past 2 days from full size looking to the size of a toonie. Will be running tests on my tank this evening. The clown fish are good and the green star polyp is wide open.
