I have a very large BTA that I got with a pair of clowns. I was attached to a rock when i got it but now it has move onto the bacl glass. I have large hang on back filter that I use for flow and mechanical filtration and it is nearly wrapped around the intake. I know powerheads are bad for them just wondered if I need to be concerned about the HOB intake also. It must have moved last night and sems to be ok but just a little concerned.

This is what a HOB filter will do to a nem.

It's not a huge BTA like you have but still almost sucked the whole thing in there. I'd be worried about it doing some damage.

Thats what I was afraid of. But, I think I may have gotten licky. It is moving away from the intake and more toward the outlet. So I think it is out of harms way for now, will jsut ahve to watch it.

Would try to figure out why it moved to the back glass -- they are rock dwellling anemones.

What size tank?
What lights?
Current parameters -- with numbers please.
How long has the tank been set up?

You will need to cover all of the holes with some sort of pad, or it will inevitably happen.

It is a 30 gallon reef that has been set-up about a year. 4 bulb t5 lighting with green star polyps, finger leathers, xenia and a feather duster. It was on a large rock when I got it but it moved last night. nitrites - o, phosphates - .2, calcium - 400, kh-9, ph - 8.5, salinity 1.024. I know the ph is a little high but that is the way our water is locally.

I would cover the intake. This is how I would do it - get a foam sponge and cut so it can wrap around the intake. Then, use fishing line and sew the two ends together.

Also, I would look into the reasons why the anemone moved. They typically only move when they are unhappy.

He has only been in this tank for 3 days so i assume he is still settling in or didn't like where I put the rock he was on.
