okay so i have a 55 gallon that has just fish and liverock in it now and have had it set up for probably a year now! i have a 20 gallon sump and im looking to get an anemone! The fish i have are 1 ocellaris clownfish 3 damsels 1 jade green filefish 1 blue tang and 2 black fin sharks! im looking to get an anemone that my clownfish will go in to and not sure what to get yet! im really wanting to get a carpet anemone i love the look of them and the way clownfish look in them! Im hesitating on getting one though! ive heard disaster stories of them eating their fish and everything! How hard are they actually to keep i have proper lighting for a reef tank and have Powerheads! tell me your stories anyone on past experiences and if you have them now and how they do! all information is needed! thankyou

carpets can get too big for your tank and it's not a sure bet that your clown will ever go near it. do you mean the brackish water black fin shark (catfish)? you do realize that they get almost a foot long and will eat anything that will fit in their mouths.

bluedevil,

I am not clear on what type of shark is in your tank, but agree with 3dees.

as far as the anemone the carpet would not be a good match as it needs a bigger tank and is more of the aggressive anemones out there.

I would read this link as Karen has excellent info on selection and raising techniques for anemones:

karensroseanemones.net - INTRODUCTION

I would consider a rose bubble tip anemone. They are considered one of the easier anemones to keep.

Yeah the brackish water black fin sharks they have fully been converted to saltwater and their about 6 inches a piece right now but they have been tank raised with clowns and other fish

These are the sharks

If you want your clowns to host it, bubble tip is the way to go. As long as you have the right lighting they are super easy to keep, just make sure they don't run into a power head!

Yeah I think I'm gonna go with a rose bubble tip or a green bubble tip! They have them at my lfs abd yeah my. Brother had a long tentacle anemone that got sucked it a power head not once but again after precaussions were taken to prevent it from happening

What lights do you have?
What are your current water parametes? (( with numbers please )).

blue,

too bad you aren't closer...I have 9 large RBTAs that would give you one..

Ok so I got a rose bubble tip about medium size for 69.99 it's acclimating right now and I'll post pictures when it's in the tank:)

bluedevil,

thanks...and good to hear on your purchase
