Anemone removal affecting other anemones?

So I have 3 anemones in one tank, one of which is a split. The other day I tried to remove the split from where it's attached to the glass. It held on tight and shrunk up to where I was afraid I would damage it if I messed with it any further. Since then, all 3 anemones haven't looked right. They all look kind of puny and not fully open during the day.

So my question is, when anemones are stressed do they excrete something into the water that could adversely affect the other anemones and if so, what could I do about it?

The obvious answer would be to change the water, which I already did...and they perked up a little, but they are still not back to 100%.

Carbon. I always run carbon in my anemone tank. I have a massive black widow and 6 other anemones. I run carbon in case they are up to no good. I also wear nitrile gloves when peeling off a rock or glass. I just get under the edge of the foot and work it up. They’ll be fine. But I suggest carbon.

What brand are you using and how often are you changing it out?

If I’m using ChemiPure Blue or ClearFX Pro, those medias have carbon in the bag. However, I haven’t used those in a while. I’m currently using Seachem Matrix Carbon. I change the bag every other month as I really have no other way to know if it’s depleted.

@Randy Holmes-Farley do you have any input about using carbon in anemone tanks to limit issues that arise from chemical warfare. Maybe it really does nothing, you’re the expert, what do you think?

I use an algae scrubber and didn’t see the need for ChemiPure anymore. I buy the containers of Seachem matrix and bag it in this.

Thanks for replies, the tank is now 12 months old, parameters all good, my lighting is customized as I only run blue light from a modified TMC V2 600 luminarie, I have just recently added my own Led strip of ultraviolet LEDs that runs in the Wavelength of 385 - 400nm around my lid. The anemones get feed twice a week with white bait and coral food.
I'm honest in what I say we had two large bubble tips that were around 8 inches in diameter and over night we can count 7. Flow is limited in this tank as I only have around 3000 litters an hour's that come from a small ehim wave maker and my ehim pro canister filter that solely has filter floss, don't use carbon or phosban.
I've noticed since changing my salt to H2 Ocean classic formula things have boomed in thank and started growing like crazy.
