Howdy ya'll so have a question - I understand that not all wavemakers are anemone safe - and was indicated that there are some safe wave makers for anemones in tanks. So looking into a build and want to implement these kind of wavemakers so no accidents happen. Any feedback would be helpful! And thank you!

I think this worry is a bit exaggerated. If one gets into the pump it can be a problem but for the most part they stick their tentacles in and feel the pump spinning and retract out of it. If you are worried you could find one with a fish guard or cut a sponge to fit over the pump.

Well the concern - I did lose an anemone earlier this week due to the wave maker - I have a Nero 3 and for a few weeks it was good and then one day came home from work and only to find my anemone shredded stuck in the Nero 3. Was devastated - lost 2 other fishes in that tank. So then had someone tell me there are some anemone safe wave makers that has a net or something that can keep it safe.

I’m not aware of any ”anemone safe” wave makers but there are covers sold by companies that are made to keep anemones out. There are also a lot of people who 3D print custom covers for this purpose.

There is a forum here for 3D printing you could check for someone who could print you one or you could search google for makers. I bought some from BRS for my MP10s.

Do a search on google for Nero 3 anemone covers and several things will come up. I just did it :)

Don't the nero 3s come with nem guards these days (in response to how many fish and nems were getting chopped up)? I would contact them about it

They have a fish guard that comes with them. I've been looking for 3-d models to print an anemone guard but only coming up with nero 5 models.
I'm about to try to scale it down and try to make one that'll work if I can't find someone else who has already done it

Just lost one to this today...Wish I had thought prevention.
