So I've been looking into getting an anemone shrimp as the main showcase of my 10 gallon that I'm planning. Now from what I've read, I'm getting the idea that I don't need to house an anemone with these shrimp? I read somewhere that I need to provide many hiding places and even better, a coral that somewhat resembles an anemone's softness? Like GSP or rics or something like that? I am looking at the Yellow Line Shrimp (Urocaridella sp. C) or the Venus Anemone Shrimp (Anclyomenes venustus).Does anyone here have any experience with these shrimp and can back me up about whether or not I need an anemone?

Mine all host anemones. Two host my haddons, one hosts a rock nem, while the last hosts a mini/maxi nem. You have options for nems with a nano tank and those shrimp :)

Mine were always on my hammer or green star polyps and rarely ever went on my anemone so you can definitely keep them without a anemone. frogspawn, hammers and GSP are some of there favorites for sure.

As long as there's coral in there they will do fine. Mine actually end up killing mini carpet anemones cause they won't leave it alone I have 27 sexy shrimp though they all want to be on it and pick at them constantly. but they do love anemones so doesn't hurt getting them one

I added one sexy in my DT. It disappeared for two days so I got another and added it in last night...This morning when I woke up, they were both chillin on a piece of rock, pretty close to my Duncans. Now they are hanging out on the stalks of my Duncans!
