What just happened to my anemone? Is it dead? Is there anything I can do? Help please! [emoji24][emoji24][emoji24]

Anenomies do this at times to have a clear out they expel all the water and waste within them and then fill themselves back up.

A few things to check is its mouth gaping or any signs of it detaching from the rock.

Have you recently fed it

How long has it been in your tank

How long has your tank been running

What lighting do you have

Have you changed water at all today as that can explain them expelling sometimes.

What are your water paramiters.

Does it have any clowns hosting it

Thanks Marty.h!
Ok, i guess i just panicked, my anemone is back! [emoji28] Is my first one, I just go it this weekend. So based on your info, I guess it was detoxing from the old home.

Looks solid and comfy on the rock

Not sure what to feed it yet, any advice? Please [emoji4]

My tank is a little over a year old in my home, but it used to belong to my brother in law for about 5 years (a lot has happened during that year lol, still learning)

I have LED lights (orbit marine system) and all my corals seem very happy

No water change and parameter tested great this weekend

And after it came back, my two new clowns are rubbing in it for the first time. I am so happy! I guess they are hosting? They seemed to be fighting at times for the spot, should I worry?

Thank you again!

It's natural for them to rub it and be quite rough to start of with they will calm down.

I always feed mine little bits of mussel chopped up and use tongs to drop it onto him once a week.

My son spot feeds, with turkey baster type feeder, his nem mysis and brine shrimp.

I just got home and my coral beauty is dead and everyone else gasping.just cheeked the parameters of the water and Ph was low, so I added buffer

I bought a 6 line wrasse and have not seen it since... It might be dead. I have too many rocks with corals so I have not move them

That would cause nitrate spike or ammonia depending on fish and system size and how mature it is.

What was your PH at the weekend when you checked

Do you do all your water testing? I have been doing it with the fish area at a pet store. I just started doing my own tests and comparing them. I noticed the Nitrate no3 is different than mine. Mine come up really high (40 ppm) theirs is "0". I also notice they don't do the "shaking ritual" from the intrusions. I am very confused

What kit are you using I use Salifert.... and I test all my own levels I rely on no one for that I like to know what's going on and having all the kits to hand if any issues makes it a lot easier to diagnose.

Don't rely on a LFS to check your water do it yourself and 40ppm could be from a fish die off and that is high i would recommend a water change to get that down. The corals and anenomie won't be to happy with that level.

My PH was 8.0 today was 7.8, ammonia 0 ppm and nitrite 0 ppm.

I really appreciate your help on this. I just bought API master test kit, but not happy with the Nitrate test. I'll try Salifert's test. I'll do a water change ASAP. Things are looking a bit better after the buffer, but I know is still fragile

APi are known not to be the best for salt water testing. Before changing any water test again with Salifert
