Hey folks,

Need some help,
About a month ago, my anemone split 3 ways.
They are all still in the same location receiving the exact same light/flow as they did before.

2 of the 3 new anemones are thriving and bubbling up, while one is closed up and shriveled ( been that way for weeks now).

What would you guys advise?
Haven't fed them in a while, but can't explain why 1 is not doing well and the others are doing great in the same exact conditions

Hello. We will need more info on your tank as generally when they split 3 ways or mors its indicative of a stress response. So tank age lighting and current parameters are needed.

When nems split it's not a precision cut. Sometimes a split just doesnt make it. In this case, if its closed but not deteriorating and the other 2 are doing fine, I'd continue to monitor for a bit.

Thanks for the reply! @reef lover, yes i did creat3e a senario where the anemone was stressed.
I did do a massive waterchange where it was out of water for about 15-20 minutes, it split the same night.
My water parms are as follow
Alk 10.5
CA 450
Pho 0.06
Nitrates 5 (i dose every day to increase it)
Ammonia 0
Flow, meduim to low flow
Light, Hydra 26 at full AB+ spectrum. the anemone is at the top 2 inches of the tank in a cup.

@Cell i see your point! , my worry is that it was doing better when it split and then started degrading. Right now it is like a buttton, not extending at all. Do you think i should feed it or let it be?

Not sure how you feed a nem that is closed up.

If tentacles are out, then it's not what I would call closed up. I'd try to feed it if so.

Well then we know why it happened. Will have to wait and see if it recovers.
