I introduced a new anemone to my tank yesterday, and my maroon clown went over to the new one, then back to my old one. He kept doing this and still hasn't stopped. When I came downstairs today, I found that my old anemone has split. I am a bit concerned with the state of my old nem. Any input?

I just recently had my anemone split on me. Does your old nem still look of? If so I wouldnt be concerned.

Both halves still have color and respond to light. I'm praying that they don't die!

It wont die. Nems split all the time. Like I said I just had mine split on wednesday, and both of them are inflated and colored up and doing great :) just let them be and dont make any changes to anything to stress them out.

Mine split, then split again about a month later. I was able to sell 2/3 for what I paid for the original nem+clowns+a couple corals.
Don't worry about splitting too much, it's how some nems reproduce. Only worries are the usual suspects when you have a new nem, will it move, where it settles, stuff like that.
Here's mine a few months after splitting. Big, healthy and beautiful (imho).

5 years ago i bought 2.. I have since sold more than 20 and still look at this mess from a week ago. Seems some split constantly others these frequent, once they start slitting it can easy take over a whole tank.

I'd love to have an anemone tank. The bigger those things gets the cooler it will look. And it already looks rad to me!

Same for me, bta's covered the middle third of my tank and were killing adjacent corals. I like anemones but I wanted more diversity in my tank.
