Hello everybody! This hobby can really make your day or the opposite. Just after I lost my favorite mandarin fish on Monday and was still trying to get over it, this morning my quadricolor sunburst BTA decided to split! I have had her for about two years now and it was hosting my pair of clownfish which were constantly taking turns to hide inside it. Now, it has split into two anemones with the new one settling just over the old one. So now my two clowns are ecstatic as they each have their own private anemone! Never saw an anemone split before and I think this is awesome!!

When I got my first anemone my clowns hung out together all the time, but would not go near the anemone. After about 2 months the female discovered she liked the anemone. But now she would not let the male near it and was pretty aggressive about chasing the male away. Mind you the anemone was about 12-14” across. This continued to the point I was getting concerned about the wellbeing of the male. The one day I come in to find the anemone had split and now they each had an anemone. The female never harassed the male again and they would both be in one anemone together probably75% of the time. Crazy fish!
