I searched the forum, but I didn't see anything said how you know an anemone is getting ready to split. Can anyone give me any insight to this? My RBTA is getting rather large and seems to be reaching out for food a lot further than it used to. I have been feeding it twice a week and it doesn't seem to be full.

I have BTA's that split all the time. When they get really big, I feed them direct with krill. They usually split a few days later. But then again, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I have two BTA's in each of my two 28 gal Nano cubes. When they get tooo big, they take up too much room in the tank so I try to hurry them along. But like I said, doesn't always work. Longer periods of lighting per day may also help to speed up the process.

Pretty much the foot starts moving in two directions and you see it figure 8 shape.

I've also seen my nem split half, and then pause for a bit, and then continue later. Which was weird when I fed my fish-- they could taste the food and their mouths reacted, even when almost cut in half.
