This guy moved in front of the WaveMaker. It certainly looks like he's splitting but idk enough to be certain.

Water is good, 0 ammonia, nitrite, and nitrates. Trying to get my nitrate up a little bit.

I hope he's not stressed.
AI prime 16hd on Saxby settings. Lowered them down to peak 70% and did acclimation mode from 50 percent over 30 days.

Is he splitting?

Splitting happens quickly. When mine had split in the past I had no idea it was even happening. Get your nitrate up and don't be afraid of light. Mine all sit directly below my kessil 360we at 85% intensity.

Makes sense

It is splitting and occurs within 8-30 hours.
before bumping nitrates, what test kit(s) are you using ?

Oh wow.

I'm using api. I'm going to get the red sea one soon. It could be 1 or 2, I would never know. It just shows yellow for zero.

Thats what I suspected. Your ammonia and nitrates are likely higher than kt is indicating as API is notorious for false reading and have let down many reefers hence the low price of $22 for a master test kit.
With this, you DONT want to raise nitrate. Get a second confirmation by taking a water sample to a trusted LFS that des NOT use API kits and see what readings they come up with

I agree. I know the test kit works - it showed 30 on my freshwater tank today. So I was thinking I would at least try to get it to read 5 on my saltwater tank. But it's yellow yellow. No hint of orange at all.

I'm ordering the red sea nitrate kit right now.

Actually I'm curious. I understand the nitrates being higher than api test shows, but why ammonia?

I've been cycled and reading ammonia as 0 for 3 months.

Ammonia is their most false test results

Ah, got ya. I suspect heavily that I'm fully cycled and ammonia is zero. But it doesn't hurt to get an accurate test.

I'm getting the impression that api test kits are beginner level and useful only for ballpark measurements. Would you say that is correct?

So today is the same thing.

The top with the tentacles is very clearly two anemones. They're separate. The stalk / foot is split like a y shape. Only separated at the top, but not the middle or bottom.

Here's some pictures. He got in front of my WaveMaker so it's kind of whipping him around and hard to get a good picture.

He's clearly splitting, right?

Should i hold off on my water change today (scheduled maintanance)?

He is staying in this y shape.
I guess that's just how he likes to hang out and he's not splitting. It's been 3 days now.
