anemone stuck in filter intake

Have you tried ice? Put one cube in a zip lock (make sure sealed tight) and put it close to him. Then I gently use my finger and rub his foot, from where he’s attached, in upward strokes. He’ll start to realease and you can get more of your finger underneath him. I’ve had to do this multiple timesI It takes awhile, but I’ve never had any injury. I had a wayward bta that liked to travel around the tank.

Tickle its foot with a soft toothbrush or G E N T L Y go under foot with the edge of credit card and it will slowly release- do not use as a scraper.
Both methods worked for me more than once
i used a credit card and the problem now is that piece that's still in the hole is puffed up yet so it cant get back thru yet...if it would deflate just a tiny bit it would be out....i sent my bf to the store for some tongs to see if using them gently on the back part if we can maybe get that little piece left back thru...i really have no idea what else to do...

he's not really stuck with his foot anymore....if he would deflate that part in the tank a tiny bit he would fall thru the other side...i just dunno how to get it to deflate anymore....if it did that it would literally take seconds to be free again

If you just need him to deflate just pet him gently for like 2 minutes. Anemones don’t like getting petted and he’ll shrink up pretty quick. I’ve had to do this several times to get a BTA into the sump so I could retrieve it

we are getting closer! just about a half inch of the foot is too inflated enough to go thru

Squirt gentle blasts via a turkey baster at it. Should cause it to deflate and loosen up to release.

If nothing else works, I would try the ice. It has always worked for me. You just gently hold it against the foot, alternate with brushing against foot with your finger

im brushing it with my finger now and seeing how that goes....we dont have any ice here so i sent my bf to go get some from gas station to put in a baggy

Thats right- the ice cube on the foot trick. Almost Always works

it's out...i have it in a bowl of tank water to make sure its okay...im too nervous to put in the tank incase it releases whatever and kills everything in tank!

It will be fine. Please return it to the tank pretty immediately, it appears to be whole and healthy just a little roughed up from his adventure. A small piece of mesh over the opening will prevent a repeat escape attempt :)

yes thats gettin fixed now as we speak

Tank is best location. If youre concerned about toxins, simply add a pouch of chemipure blue which will absorb any toxins and polish your water
