Hi , i have a 100 gallon tank that i used to use it for reef tank , now that all my coral going to a new 150 gallon home . so i plan to make a anemone garden for old tank . question is what type anemone would be good and compatible with each other ? i have a favorite nems which is blue carpet anemone . are they hard to keep and need specific requirement ? in the past i have rose and green bubble nems that last 1,5 years . thanks and what type of clown fish would host carpet anemone?

Usually as long as the anemones are the same species everything should be fine. I think having having BTA's and carpets in the same tank should be fine, but I'm not an expert. They could kill each other as far as I know. Carpet anemones are not really hard to keep and like the only special requirement they need is like feeding it meaty food regularly whether it be daily or weekly. You can feed it table shrimp, silver sides, mysis, live feeder fish.

Normally any species of clownfish will host a carpet nem. But if you use a clown tube slide they will most likely host the nem. There is a video by MelevsReef.
You can use clear mailing tubes such as this one on Amazon. Scotch Mailing Tube 7982, 4 x 48-Inches https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001LVBQIM/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_-NjBwbDJQYHGG

You need to determine what anemones you want and the adjust the tank from there. "Blue carpet" is too open ended. Blue gigantea carpet or blue haddoni carpet? While both are carpets, they have largely different needs. Additionally, haddonis are generally much easier to care for than giganteas. But if you go with all haddonis then what do you put on your rocks since the haddonis will be on the sandbed?
BTW, the anemones do the hosting, not the clownfish. As for which clownfish are naturally associared with which anemone, that is all dependent upon which "carpet" (or other type of anemone) you are talking about.
So focus on what type or types of anemones you want, and the adjust your setup and future clowns based on that.

Thanks for all comments and suggestion , I was going for blue carpet gigantea , and I upload a picture above as I pick up today from local lfs a pair of true percula from Solomon island . But both haven't pick up any food that I throw it in yet ! I give them a flake , pellets , and some mysis shrimp . Nothing been eaten yet ! Any suggestion ! And also I pick up green bubble anemone today as well , he looks good already !

As for the clowns, it doesn't matter what kind they are and if they're captive bred, you can train them to make an anemone their home, which can be kind of fun. When I got my Rose Bubble Tip, my clowns had been in the take a couple weeks. Several weeks went by and they hardly even ventured to the side of the tank where the anemone resided. I decided to try a little experiment, so I printed out several color pictures of clowns hanging out in red colored anemones and taped them to the sides of the tank so my clowns could see them..they were instantly interested and checking out the pics. Within a day, they had made the anemone their home and rarely ventured far from it everafter.

At night, if you have some sort of glass or acrylic to sit on top of your tank, you can shine a flash light down on the anemone you want the clownish to host. After a couple days they should go over to it. It's how I got all mine to host my 1 big anemone. 40 to 1 thankfully. It's also how I used to catch the fish fry on hatching night.

Ok, light on now for 20 mins. Totally darkness in the room. Clown is not coming out from the dark. Lol

Things don't happen instantly in this hobby. Try it for a couple nights. Just leave it there before lights off and over night. Also you sure the clown isn't already hosting something?

I'm going to try this with my Carpet anenome green. I will update as needed . thanks for the tip

I have a question, if you plan to have a large number of clowns in a single tank can you have more than one species? I would love to have tomato clowns and pink skunk clowns.

Listen you can do several clowns in a tank. In my 55 gallon reef tank, I have a True Percula, a Female Photon, and a Snowton (aka Photon Flake) As you see different breeds, sizes and shapes. I had to evict my Tomato Clown as she was a Female and was bullying the 2 Designer Clowns I had. I feel the most important thing to consider when doing Mutiple Clowns, there can realistically only be 1 Female and plenty of Rock Works.
