wouldnt the only way for this to happen to be from sexual reproduction therefor a new genotype and new colors?
I dont think you can get a new color morph from an animal cloning itself

EDIT for some who may not know.

Two ways

1. Reproduce asexually. (no morph)
2. Reproduce sexually by broadcast spawning with fertilization taking place. The larvae will broadcast swim around in the plankton until a suitable place is found to settle and metamorphose into a young anemone with possible to probable depending on species.
