ive had an anemone in my tank for about a month. It's been open and doing great until today. It's shriveled up and laying on the sand. The tentacles are small and deflated but they are still moving. This morning it was expelling a cloudy type slime. I've been reading as much as I possibly can about them but every web site says something different from its starving to it's still adjusting to the tank. I've been feeding is mysis shrimp a couple times a week. Since I've had it he's never locked on to a rock like some say. He's always sat in the sand

That pic was him this morning and here's a pic after I put some shrimp in his tentacles

I would remove the anemone.

For future anemones feeding once or twice a month with tiny pieces of raw seafood such as fish, shrimp or scallops is a better feeding strategy.

An anemone that never foots for longer periods of time is a bad sign.

I would try to place him in some sort of bowl with some rock rubble or in a crevice the rock structure. Looks like he perking up a lil';)

It's about 7 months old. I've always had very good luck so far. I read about it nonstop and try to do the best for all my lil guys. I haven't lost anyone yet but this anemone is driving me crazy. I'm constantly Worried about him. Do you think I should try feeding him a small whole piece of shrimp. Before he looked weak like maybe he wasn't getting enough food

Ok ill try that and he does! This is the best he's looked all day

I don't have any type of wave maker in the tank right now. I bought one but never put it in because I was afraid to mess with a good thing. Everything was doing so well I didn't know if I should put a change in like that. Maybe I should start using it

Ok I'll put him in a separate tank in a bowl with a little rock in the bottom. Thank you so much for everyone's help. This forum helps so much!

do you have a separate tank? if not just put em into a plastic takeout container or something. if he was healthy, he should've grabbed onto a rock or something by now.

if you move em, and he seems to "fall apart" or kinda melt away, you may have to toss em.

Yes I have a separate tank that I use for all new fish before I put them in the big tank. I moved him to there for now and put him in a bowl with some rock at the bottom to support him

I have a question for you all. I got a Bubble Tip few weeks back. It stayed on the rocks for a while, then it let loose and went to the bottom in the sand. Over the next few days it's moved farther and farther under the rocks. I can shine a light under it and it's open as much as it can be since it's under the rock. At times it does let my clown host up to it then it will retreat under the rock again. Any ideas why or should I worry?
As always thank you

I'm having the same problem with mine. Sooooo totally frustrating lol. I watched him at the pet store for a couple weeks before I bought him and he was all over their tank even up on the glass and it my tank he won't lack on to anything

Mine is way back under the rock. It's a big bowling ball size rock that is slanted on bottom side so it's leaning on another rock. This creates a really good cave. Well it's so far back in that I can barley see it. Today it was towards the front and my clown was in it then I looked and back it was
