Hi all I got an anemone yesterday and it moved itself right in the middle of a big rock with lots of corals on. I’m afraid it will kill the corals and I can’t even really see the anemone. There are no crevaces so the foot is right on the surface. Any ideas how to get the anemone off? Thanks!

Ps, I didn’t know if I should have put it in the invert section or not!

You could try aiming a powerhead at it , but IME anamones are gonna sit where they want too , if it’s possible too make room around him that’s also an option, you can put ice cubes in a sealed bag and try and tease his foot loose .. just to mention a few ideas ,, but he looks happy there .. nicely bubbled up .. he might even move on his own in a couple of days ..

@DerekT5 could have been a million things that cause that mine tried to die on me than I started feeding it silver sides and it finally found a spot and started growing again this was seriously a four month long battle

Also check your trace elements mag cal alk to make sure they are at good levels I found I was low on mag started dosing and all the color came back in it with the combo of light duty feeding

Another thing is age of the tank set up itself if I do another anemone in my other tank set up I’m going to wait till the set up is 8 to 12 months old minimum

First check which salt mix your using , it will say on it what it mixes too for calc alk and mag , if it’s high because of your salt mix , then you could change salts , alk will after that come down on its own as your tank uses it up ..

Nems are like cats they do what they want

I wish I could offer more help but as Jason said it may move on it’s own

Keep your powerheads covered so it doesn’t get injured as it explores
Good advised Hirohito, I would not advised putting a power head directly into an anemone, don't judge those who do it but I think depending the force of it it can injured more than benefit.
