Hello,

I purchased my first anemone a couple of months ago. It is a Rose Bulb Anemone. As I was warned, it moved a bit for the first week or so, but settled into a nook and has been in the same place for 7 weeks or so.

I have been surprised by the amazing growth of the animal. It as probably doubled in size (I assume that means it's happy and healthy?). With the growth, its tentacles are now grazing both a leather coral (bottom right) and a green birds nest (top left) depending on the direction of the flow.

Am I to understand that it is stinging these corals each time it touches? Do I need to relocated the corals? I haven't noticed any ill effects on the corals yet, but I believe it just started touching them in the last week or so.

Thanks for the advice!

So funny you post this. I have had my BTA's for several years and up until recently I have had a very large Nepthia in the tank near them. the Nepthea was amazing and beautiful but grew way too big. I fragged it and what was left died unfortunately. However ever since then, the anemonees have really taken off. they are MASSIVE lately. I had to re-work my current in the tank to keep them off other corals. we are talking 4 inch long tentacles and such!

Yea I agree....I would relocate the corals if you can!
This thread was so helpful. I read your advice and moved my Leather Coral immediately. He was being tagged by my anemones left and right. Fortunately, I saw this post the same morning the encroachment began so while I am sure he got zapped some we saved him/her/it from serious suffering. Thank you all.
