SO I got my big tank up and running and got a couple corals and a few fish. Figured I would grab a nem with the 2 little Wyoming white clowns I got ( not that a clown fish would ever host a nem on my watch) but i figured what the heck, I will try it again. I just went on a trip for 4 days and right before I left the nem was happy and stationary. When I get home he was in the back of that tank in the sand. I scooped him up and been trying all night to get it to seat but it wont latch on. I currently have it under a glass bowl on a rock since it has floated away a half a dozen times. Anyone got suggestions. All the anemones I have had usually grabbed on to a rock and moved until they found their spot. This guy is looking ok, but insists on floating around for a while.

How old is this tank exactly? Anemones are not necessarily the easiest of creatures to keep, especially in tanks that have yet to mature. What are your parameters? How big is the tank? What kind of lighting do you have? What kind of anemone is it?

Tank is young. Only about 2.5 months old. Ammonia and nitrate 0, phosphate is .03, cal. Is 430,alk 9.3. Water temp 78.9 and ph is 8.01. Tank is 265 Gallon and 300 total volume. Here is a pic of him under the bowl

It will find it's happy spot on it's own. The bad part is that it doesn't always seat where you want it. I have had the same nem for 7 years. It moves around every few months. My advice is to let it find its own way. Be sure to cover any wave pumps with a foam sleeve. Also be aware of the overflow. I have had several unnatural splits due to the overflow.
