Not sure, I wasn't able to even find out if there's one that would be safe for the damsels and the tang. Amy suggestions? What type of anemone were you thinking about?
Okay if it's not safe for the damsels, do you have any other suggestions for a home for the clownfish? He is swimming non-stop in the middle of the tank, day and night... that can't be good for him. I have 3 "caves/houses", only 3 are claimed and he won't go into the third oneWell I would say none are safe with other fish. The safest one would be a bubble tip since their sting us not strong but it is not a natural host for that clown so it may take a while for the clown to go in. Carpets have a very strong sting and haddonis are know fish eaters. I have a gigantea in my main display and the clowns keep other fish away from it. But be warned that carpets are harder to keep so selecting a healthy one is important or have some cipro on hand and an extra tank to treat it just in case and they also get BIG. If you want to see a big haddoni stop by exotic aquatic in Oakland, they have a big one in their display. I have a blue gigantea if you want see that in person but it's still small
I appreciate all the help Chris! Um... walking? I thought it would bond to a live rock? Does it really walk??If you don't mind the anemone walking then I would say just try a bubble tip especially if it's your first nem, just pick a healthy one. I've heard of some people saying their clowns have gone in torches and goniopora but I feel like that would take a while for it to happen
So I don't want an anemone.... thank you for the education, very much appreciated sirAn anemone is not a coral and can move around. It's not something you can glue down. The reason walking can become an issue is because they can potentially end up in the overflow or powerhead. Another issue with walking is that while on the move they can also sting other corals in it's way which has the potential to kill that coral
this made me laugh! You are not alone. I didn't know mushrooms walked too. I was blaming a crab for dragging the rock it was on.I appreciate all the help Chris! Um... walking? I thought it would bond to a live rock? Does it really walk??
