Need help understanding what an Anenome is. I thought it was coral or part of that segment. Is it not? Can it survive in a fowlr tank? Does it need anything special.

Sea anemones are very much similar to coral however they are actually more closely related to jellyfish. Regardless as it pertains to aquarium care they are more similar to coral than not. They need strong light and can be sensitive to fluctuations in chemistry and toxins. Generally it is recommended to only attempt to keep anemones in a mature tank, whatever that means. The biggest difference between anemones and coral is that they can and will walk around so there is always a risk keeping them with coral and it is generally something you want to plan for.

Thanks, is there a “hardy” anenome?

I think of them as an invert, like a snail. You need a mature system and stable parameters. I would wait 9 months to a year before keeping one.
