Anemone

My tank has two clowns and is a fairly new tank but does anybody have any suggestions on when is a good time to get an anemone? Does it depend on the water levels or how long you let your tank cycle with fish in it. I have heard a lot of opinions about it online.

You want to wait a few months at least! Anemones don’t like new tanks and like stability. But odds are if it’s aquacultured clownfish and you introduce an anemone they won’t host it…if that’s your goal. You’d want to introduce the anemone first then the clowns for much higher chances of them hosting an anemone and wild ones are more likely too. There are a few things you could try too if a fish won’t host it.

Typically you want to wait until coralline algae takes over your rockwork. Usually 9-12 months
