Anemones and clown tank

so my wife wanted a Anemones and clown tank. I have setup a 90 gallon ELOS for her. My question is, how long should I wait before adding anemones to the tank? And how long do you acclimate them before adding to the tank?

Generally speaking, you should wait 6-12 months before adding anemones to a new system.

I noticed you have multiple clowns and usually a harem only works long term if they are all from the same clutch and not different morphs. Also, some of the easier anemones (specifically bubble tips) are not natural hosts for ocellaris so there is no guarantee they will host in them.

So I understand. But the only other thing in this tank is clowns. No other coral. The water is from my mature 210 reef . Still have to wait that long?

Water doesn't really mature, so unless you added mature rock, there will still be problems with stability while it matures. It's not impossible to add them earlier, just much harder to keep them healthy.

6 to 12 months is suggested...doesnt mean you couldnt do it with mature live rock and good husbandry...my nem tank has been upgraded once already and will.be again soon...once christmas comes ....and i start with new substrate and new water and all mature rock. I havent had any issues yet....now the harem...thats a whole nother can of worms...

Using established LR is key for the needed stability and has allowed me to cheat it some, especially when I was just doing a basic swap, but generally speaking 6 months running is what is advised, BTA's may be more forgiving in this area

3 months after completion of tank cycling should be fine IF your params are stable. It is best if you can get a nem from local reefers. That's exactly my case and I never have any issue. I sold a split to another reefer who has a new tank. It is doing well.
For acclimation, people say only temperature acclimation is needed. I drip acclimated all my nems for 15 minutes.
In term of placement. I told my buyer to turn down his light 75% and turn off the PH. to allow the nem to settle. After an hour, he can turn on the PH but direct the flow away from the nem. He can adjust the flow after a week. He can crank up the light 5% every hour and observe. If the nem retract, then lower the light and wait a day before increasing it another 5%. It is slow adjustment, but his nem never move an inch.
My orange and white, black and white osc. didn't care for the BTA. However, when I added the maroon, it dove right in. There is a good chance your clown harem will take the BTA. Good luck.

One thing about BTA's, they are forgiving in this area somewhat, and if you are not providing the stability they should have, they will most likely split, which gives most the idea that it is working out just fine, which usually is not really the case, they just send off clones in search of better conditions.

I would definitely not advise pushing it on running time w/ any other type of host anemone.
