Anemones gone wild!

How do you guys remove them from the rock work without injuring the foot??

We have a Rainbow BTA that just spit and if it continues we'll be thinning the herd in our 29gal!

Ice the foot. Works fast.

Thank you!!

Literally use ice, or cold SW in a syringe??

I have used an ice pack. Ice cubes melt too fast. If you can get the rock out, hang it upside down in five gallon bucket with an inch of tank water in the bottom. It will take longer, but the anemone will fall into the water eventually. I do this if I have one rock with several anemones attached.

Kinda random question, but what is so much harder to care for a Magnifica vs a normal Anemone? I am considering selling some and getting one since I am having so much success with normal Anemones.

if u dont want them splitting so often, feed less like once/month

I don't feed my rainbows anymore and they never split. When I did feed them they split like crazy.

Multiple rose bubble tip anemones. Don’t feed them directly. My maroon clown does though. Only way to not feed them is don’t feed the fish.

Of course they get food from the tank, thats a given. But if you DIRECTLY feed them a shrimp and they will split.

Kept BTAs for years. Finally got tired of them. Now they’re just oversized majano to me LOL. Mags are my choice now, though my current one is getting larger and restless .... hope it splits soon!
Have you ever had one pull itself into some rock work? I got my first one yesterday and it was happy for about 18 hours but it just pulled itself completely into some rock work in the last hour. I run ab+ on 2 AI prime 16s above a 40b and all params are within acceptable ranges except nitrate which is higher at about 40 but coming down slowly.

+1 on bucket trick. I always try that first if the rock is easily removed. Also, if you can try putting them on a rock that you don't mind getting rid of. The last time I took some to LFS it was a rock with 3 nems on it and some softies I needed to thin out. Ended up with some nice frags in the deal.
