I have had a condy anemone for about 5 months and a bubble tip for about one month. I don't know what I am doing wrong, but they just seem to slowly degrade over time.

Temp 79
Salinity 1.025
KH - 8.5-9
Nitrate around 10
Phosphate 0.07-0.10 (feeding heavy)
Calcium - 360
Magnesium - 1140
The calcium/magnesium have been tested with Salifert

I feed a mix of mysis brine clam pellets nori mashed into paste frozen and thawed when feeding
I run 4 T5's it is two blue two purple BRS bulbs
I have 3 orphek or3 LED's to supplement the T5's (I think it is more like the T5's supplementing the LEDs though)
I have two gyre style pumps on each end running 10-20% and a Jebao return pump pushing just over 1000/gph through the drilled overflow into sump system

My condy anemone has been a deflated mess, blowing around the bottom of the sand bed for more than a week. My RBTA has slowly been getting smaller as time passes.

I am more than willing to make any type of change if there is something that you see that I could change to help out my RBTA. At this point everything in the tank is healthy/stable except for the anemones I am trying to keep.

My two clowns love the crap out of their nem's I am wondering if they are stressing them out by loving them too hard. I am at my wit's end trying to figure out what to do for these guys.

Most important parameter is tank age IMO. There's nothing wrong with what you have listed. I also haven't fed my nems in years fwiw

nem doesn't get direct fed unless it is big open and happy, if that is the case then i'll give a little squirt of mysis right in the ol' kisser and nem seems to like it.

Tank was set up in late February, I just wish I knew what is causing it to close up sporadically

Ive had a similar issue for a while, exact same circumstances. I have over 15 rock flowers, no issues with them. But all my BTA have slowly withered away to nothing, Only difference in our tanks, is Mine is almost 2 years old. Lit with two G5 xr15.

But also to add, I have three acros that are growing and doing just swell, No idea why I cant keep a BTA or a Condy alive for long.

yes i have two different sticks and a rainbow monti that are all thriving as well as many softies and LPS . it is a mystery to me for sure.

I am thinking there is some trace element that is much more important to anemones than other inhabitants that I am not providing , hope I can figure it out soon.

What test kits do you use?

Ive searched for a while. I dont use anything fancy and my torches and all my other corals are doing great. Just cant seem to keep a BTA up and alive.

I use reef roids, heavy. Dump in a cap or two of phyto and zoo every day. Will every once in awhile add some reef fusion part 1 (heavy) and part 2 (light) to try and get a bit more Ca/Mg.
I am going to purchase some amino acids (Red Sea AB+) also.

The worst part is the RBTA is the by far favorite thing in my tank and probably the entire hobby. Everything else is there to look at when I am done watching the nem. :(

I feed reef roids once a week, and live phyto daily.

Your #'s look good (I like cal at 450) but I feed my nems littleneck clams from grocery store twice a month. I have 23 BTAs.

Update? How are they doing? I truly hope well, and you don't even need to read my anticdotal, subjective, self proclaimed..
'mid-level, non-expert' thoughts/tips/experiences.
1st I'll start by saying again, im no expert, but are you running any carbon? i had my first two a while back in a 90 with kessils only at 40% max..the bta started out golfball sized, pale white & light orange at purchase .. movedcaround & slowly climbed the rock till eventually it settled at the top, grew huge deep red with glowing red tips..then eventually got so big it split and neither wanted the light and flow and went back down to lower flow & light. My condy stayed where it was at bottom and never moved, partly because it liked its rock so much..which i feel those 3 are most important at the start.. low flow..low light and on a rock with an opening or crevis that allows them to move in and out to get less or more flow or light as desired until they fully settle and adapt.

^^Happy but still low month in.

^^eventual & for about 2years.
(Left Hammer was size of my fist)
I just started a 2.5 gal nano a few months ago with a little established rock and a lil filter floss i change every few days and a tiny bit of new carbon each week for half the week. It was put under a reefled 50 on all blue at 20%..mounted a foot above and on a rock 8" under water.. it was still too much light and flow with the 80gph sicce mi mouse w seaspin.. and it used one of the many crevises i set up..on the back side and comes out and looks full and healthy, but even still after a week ...light up to 30% or adding in whites ..it goes in and fully shriveled and closed.. came back out after i put the light back down and turned the pump off for 15 min. I have the pump on a wifi timer now and it turns off every hour for 5 min..just to give it a break.
Keep in mind this came from wwc so it probably had way higher light & flow.. but it doesnt matter after the high stress of shipping.. and new environment.. square one.
I feel Until they settle in and have zero stress, they need to have the option of low/ no flow and light and saftey.
I think that combined with your clowns probably stressing it ..they just arent happy and a new low light & flow spot or maybe a mesh cover for them or another nem for your clowns to bother for a while. They can move themselves but if stressed they might not want or have the energy to venture into higher light or flow to find a better spot.. so Moving them manually to a lower light & flow rock with a hole/crevis they can go in and out of for less might help.
Two farms both suggested to feed them a small morsel every 3 days.. so i grate up some frozen store bought raw shrimp in single layer in a very small tupperware ( never letting it thaw) and put a few drops total of selcon & coral amino and mix it up then spread it back into a single layer and back in freezer to break a tiny chunk off and feed to the clown & and a pencil tip size to the nem.
Also my clown has not discovered it yet, which i feel helps for now.

So far so good.
