Directly, not sure. However, alkalinity is a huge part of the health of the water and the ecosystem the anemone lives in. If the parameters are off, this can cause stress and infections. Even one parameter being off or spiking or dropping can cause havic on the health of the entire system. This is one reason we always say have a mature system before adding more at risk animals. Maturity is stability in many cases.
