Hey everyone, anenome has been acting strange the past 3 to 5 days appears to be closed pretty consistently. Still opens and clown will host as if everything is good, appears to be secreting a mucus type substance pretty often. Water parameters are spot on as far as ammonia, nitrate, nitrite with nitrate at 5 and ammonia 0 and nitrate 0. Was curious what would cause it to be doing this

That was as of this morning. Thats about as big as it will open, not sure of you can see the mucus type thing on it.

How old is the tank?
Type of lighting?

The tank looks very new -- no algae on rocks and sand looks very clean.

However, BTAs are very durable. Give it a few more days to acclimate.

Tank is roughly 5months old, anemone has been in for about 2 of the 5. Using a fluval marine light. That particular spot where the anemone is doesnt see much light so i believe is why there doesnt seem to be much algae. As far as the sand goes, it was lightly vacuumed roughly 4 days ago and my sand sifters are doing a pretty good job on it.

Unsure of ca,mg,phosphate, waiting for test kit to arrive. Sg is at 35, alk was 7, ph 8.0 using red sea kit

Just an update. Decided to go ahead and re-aquascape since i could get the nem unattached from the rock and got it set up where its getting better light and appears to be doing better
