So I just recently purchased an anenome a couple weeks ago he was doing great now hes shriveled up and in a crevasse inside of my live rock is this normal? should I try to get him out as I am new to reef aquaria and not sure as to what is normal or not any advice would be great thank you.

Welcome to R2R! ,sorry for your troubles. It would be easier to help if we knew more about your tank like how long it has been set up, what your lighting and flow situation is, what tankmates it has, and what your water Paramaters are.

This, as well as what type of anemone.
Pics usually help

Are you feed directly? I would say that the anemone could be hungry and a little stressed. I would suggest feeding a small piece of table shrimp from the grocery with tweezers. Tray to get as close to it's mouth as you can. If the tentacles grab the shrimp, let go and the anemone will draw the shrimp in if it's hungry. Anemone are know to ball up for a day or so.

Welcome home, you will love it here!

The best thing you can do is wait it out and hope for the best. Remove it before it’s completely dead though.

This place is amazing. I have found help with every question I have asked and found more answers just by reading others' threads and the articles they have. I was intimidated at first because some of these people have had many years of experience and I didn't want to feel stupid. But I soon found out that they like helping and everyone is very kind. You will like it here.
