Hey all, I picked up a tiny nem yesterday from a new owner of a lfs. He said it was a baby bta, taken from thier DT that has been run by previous owner for about 10 years. Never saw any Majano nems in there but this little sucker has split overnight and i was wondering if i should give it the lemon juice treatment or not. May be too small to ID. Any thoughts?

Sure looks like Majano to me.

So your new LFS owner is selling Majano, just wow.

I sure hope not.. altho he talked up a zebra moray to put in my 2 ft hes let the tank go and looks terrible now and has started selling bits out of it. Just never seen any nems other than bta and of course aiptasia. Very opportunistic buy might QT it and feed and see what happens.

They do look like Majano anemones.
I hope you didn't pay a lot for them.

Na only $20 but yeah just confirms this guy has no idea as a shop owner. Sucks cos that only leaves 2 marine lfs in the state (Tas aus)

I'd put it in a hanging basket inside your tank and watch it for a while. I've had super tiny rose bubble tips show up in my tanks that were the size of a dime before so it is possible to get really small bubble tips. That said it's pretty likely that they are majano anemones but still worth watching to see if they grow or just continue to split.

It looks like a Cribrinopsis crassa, a small anemone from the Mediterranean that has been sold as a GBTA. They never get big....size or a quarter...and multiply like rabbits. I'd suggest you take it back and get your $20 back.
