hey folks: I put my first bubble anenome in the tank and he perched himself under a ledge that keeps him in the shade. Do I need to move him into the light as moderate to heavy light was recommended or will it move itself? Thanks

He will move himself if wants too:) they will move till they find a spot they like. If you try to move him be very careful not to injure his foot by tearing it.

By the way, Welcome to R2R:)

It's not likely to remain in a shaded area, so I would turn off any PH's, and make sure it can't get into your overflow's until it settles in.

I agree in this except the powerheads off. Id only do that till he initially plants. First 20 minutes of putting him in tank. After that you want tank operating normally so he can pick a spot under normal conditions. It may take a week or two for it to come out of its hole. It is just acllimating to the light

You could shroud the PH's with some kind of foam(and keep them clean) if you want to keep them running until it settles in, if you don't, and keep them running, this is what is likely to happen:

Welcome to R2R, my RBTA went in on the left side of tank, walked to a few rocks, then returned to first spot and has stayed . If it's in shade, it's still getting use to your lights. Don't worry they move.

Ouch

I would let it settle in and don't try and move it because it's gonna go where it's gonna go. If it settles on a rock in the back like BTA's often do...you might be able to turn the rock around so it faces the front. GL
