Hi,
My BTA is recovering from a bacterial infection. It split and lost 9/10 it's size last October. I've slowly recovered it to the point where it was showing small arms with bubbles and it's colouration was markedly improved.
Yesterday I re-arranged the tank and made sure it was still in a great position for light and had similar amounts of flow. Fast forward to today, it isn't eating the slice of raw prawn and has stuck itself into a cave / hole so it gets little light and will be difficult to feed if not impossible.
Are these just the behaviours of a stressed BTA or is it just such an enigma of an animal that it's almost committing suicide rather than recover?
I'm in two minds as to whether to throw the towel in and leave it be and just get another BTA or keep persevering.
