Came home to my bubble tip “missing” which is odd as he is so big. moved a rock and found him Pulled a chunk out of a powerhead.

Powerheads are all covered by nylons and it seems the flow is going outward and I can’t figure out how he got into it

He has sat on these for days before but the last few days he was happily back on a rock. he looks ripped all the way to his mouth. what are his odds? He extends to 14” or so and his foot which appears completely intact is almost the size of a softball

I worked overnight and if he moves at all from the spot behind the rocks I will take a picture after I get up but I’m trying not to disturb him.

Should he be removed immediately? He is all closed up pretty much, but still grips the rock he is now on.

Can you isolate it in a breeding box? This way it stays in conditions it has acclimated to. I don't know what more you can do other than monitor it and watch it heal.

Pics would help, but I have had a few get chopped up and I ended up with 1 chunk dead, but 3 new nems, so to speak.

When bubble tips divide they literally rip themselves in half... So I'd say he certainly has a chance to recover.

Not the best picture, but it looks a lot better now. I can put him in a breeder box, but I am just worried I am forcing him at a set flow/light that way...
