Hi,

I wasn't sure where to post a thread to as this is a question regards to anemones and LPS corals.

I recently had a coral that had died off (see pic) and was doing good until I saw this anemone near it. I know aiptasia has killed corals, and other corals can kill corals, but this is the first time I seen this ... maybe it is a coincidence that it so happens the anemone ended up near a coral that was dying :) I am very concerned because I have bubble tips that are splitting all over this tank that I recently added a lot of LPS and soft corals. As a matter of fact, the one anemone is right in between a bunch of zoes and unable to remove from rack - I fear it will kill one of my favorite zoe rocks!

Any advise / comments greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Attila

Btas can kill lps and sps.

I have had no issues with btas and zoas/palys though. Many of my colonies will grow right up to nem and be fine. This includes mags, mertens, haddonis and gigs. But each coral is different, so keep that in mind.

Thanks for the quick response! I hope the anenome won't be happy there and maybe climb up on the glass where I can remove easiest. Just curious if you have any tricks in removing anenomes from rocks? I recall a long time ago reading some ice cube method??

If you see damage to the lps then move it. Dont just follow my comments, my anemones are well behaved

BTA's will actually kill a lot of things.. you need to move them away from other stuff.. i don't think much can handle them... clams seem to not care, but all corals seem to lose.
