I've had a condy in my tank for about 3 months and it's been problematic the whole time. At first, it kept hiding itself in the far corner in the rocks where it received no light, no flow and no food. I finally moved it somewhere else where conditions were better after I had noticed half of it's tentacles were gone. It started doing better for awhile, but now it looks all bleached out and is a shade of grey. All the times I've tried to feed it, it sucks on it for awhile and then spits it back out. I don't know what to do with the thing. Is it getting too much light now? Not enough? I have 4 t5s 39 watts each. 2 actinics and 2 10000k daylights. Actinics are on from 11am to 8pm and daylights are on from 1pm to 7pm. For flow I have a Jebao rw4 with 300-1000gph. 30g tank by the way. I use silversides for food and as per the LFS advice, I feed it about once a month. I've heard bad things about silversides and someone suggested some seafood medley from the grocery store but I couldn't find any of that anywhere.

I'll get some pictures here soon.

Light is fine.

Condy is an easy anemone. How long has the tank been running?

If you can't find a seafood mix, get some fresh raw shrimp.

Sounds to me that he's sick. When they loose tents, usually infection has set in.

It looks to me like the tentacles are growing back because there are some stubs coming through and they are white, but the color of his longer tentacles are turning from white to like a brown/grey ugly color.

I would test your water.

If you haven't been doing water changes, try 20% weekly for a while and see how he looks.

Keep nitrates low.

When you say it is graying out, what color was it to began with? I know the one I bought/saved from the FLS was a lot whiter then it is now.. They had it under some crazy lights and it was bleached so bad you could not see the purple dots on the tips. Now it is a beautiful grayish purple color with bright purple dots on it's tentacles.

It sounds like yours was bleached, and it now regaining its zoax (( internal algae )) and you are seeing in the color change. This is a good thing.

+1. Anemones are not supposed to be white. The darkening of the tentacles is a great sign.

Yeah he was whtie white white from the LFS and remained that way for a number of months, until recently when I moved him in the tank. I freaked out when I noticed his tentacles were half missing so I moved him. Now it seems they are growing back but the grey color change is scary. Even pictures I see of them on the internet they all look bleach white. Mine is greyish now with purple tips.
