Mine goes from full bloom(12"+ across) during the day to withered up to nothing at night....every single day. I've had him 9 months. I've learned as long as they have good color they are good.

Good to know. What kind is that?
From what I understand a gaping mouth and white guts coming out from it is bad.

I was feeding it a silver side every couple weeks but he wouldn't quit growing so I haven't fed him a silver side in 2 months. He still wont quit growing. I hope it splits soon so I can sell the other half.

Thats good to hear. Last night he opened up already. This morning he was looking good and he was wide open all day till about 6-7 pm he started retracting into a ball. Now hes in a ball again. I guess hes fine. Im doing a 10 gallon water change now as we speak to level things out. Ill take measurements in the AM

He moved up the rock this morning but is looking pretty good. I was planning on zoa garden on those 2 rocks but looks like he had something different in mind
Mine goes from looking beautiful to hangover state curdled into a tiny sick looking pod every night. It's important to watch them as if they get sick / die they will nuke your tank but typically at that point they detach from their spot and their insides come outside.
nems ARE weird.
it is odd he's going into the ball like that regularly. usually I have to stir stuff up or generally be annoying to have mine pout like that.
@cromag08 is this just weird nem stuff?

I did have the mp40 on low because of him for past few weeks. I did ramp it up yesterday to back to my normal intensity. Also have been ramping my radions 5% every week to slowly bring up my lights. So maybe few of these things he did not like. Also started dosing so im finicking around trying to get calcium, alk, mag dialed in so im sure these slight fluctuations are not to his liking.

Assume that whenever you change status quo they may change and get defensive water changes, lighting changes etc
