So is there some kind of way to get sponge to mix in your own food or what do you guys feed your angels?
I want to keep angels, but I want to give them the best possible diet! :)

I'm very curious of some answers here, also how often do you feed them. I have been doing alot of reading about this since I plan on introducing one to my mixed reef. One little trick I found was a little nori/other food put into your rock structure helps them with the grazing.

I use a food additive agent called AngElixir. It's made by Brightwell. So far it seems to be working out well. I have a female Bellus angel in my reef and definitely want more angels.

Mine eats everything (venustus) I throw in Rods, mysis, formual 2 RDF, Angel food Ocean nutrition, and life spectrum pellets it eats them all.

I know angels will eat it all, but is it healthy?

Brightwell Angel mix, I would probably trust that one the most. Other ones are gel binded aren't they?

Not sure if it's going to be a reef or fowlr with a few nems yet.

I have upwards of 10 angels mixed into all my tanks and I have found that aside from feeding a lot and a lot of different things, only the larger angels seem to really depend on the sponge in their diet. The Centropyge don't seem to be as dependant on it.

I personally feed a mix of lots of frozen (PE, mysis, brine, clam, shrimp, and squid) NLS pellets (2X a day on autofeeder), and nori. I supplement my frozen with both aminos and brightwell angel elixir as well as selcon.

Good luck and hopefully you find a little one that wont pick too much!

my point was that if you provide a variety then yes its healthy, perhaps the most healthy method rather than only feeding a certain fish a certain type of food. I do include an angel mix with sponge, and I provide algae via formula 2 and I provide protein via mysis and vitamins via life spectrum and food soak.

which angels were you thinking of getting?

I am thinking the golden and venustus angelfish. I have read the venustus is a little finicky though? :(

Where did you find a Brightwell angel mix?

In the quote below! haha, I haven't actually looked for it online, just from what jaytizzle has said.

This is good info thank you!
What is your angel list?! ;)

This is also good info, thanks! I have Kent Zoecon which I soak my Spectrum food in for my current fish and they seem to love it, hoping the angel does as well!

Would it be best to introduce the angels as the first fish then? So they can feel at home with no competition for food?
