Angels in the genus Genicanthus are planktivores, so won't pick. Every other angel is a risk for acans and other LPS.

I have tried a few, I have a sps tank with Christmas tree worms, clams, few zoas... until now the only Angel that I found totally reef safe IN MY TANK is an Eibli Angelfish, he has been in the tank for the past 30 days or so and he doesnt touch anything. Always picking stuff from rocks and eats the food I make.
Second close one was a flame Angel that never touched corals nor clams but loved to nibble the Christmas tree worms, he lives now in an sps tank of a friend of mine since I gave him away about one year go.
Sorry, don´t know about a more mixed reef tank with lps corals. Hope someone that has the same fish could chime in.

I have a potters angel , he's been in my tank for about 7 months now. So far so good [emoji120]

I've had a coral beauty for a while now, never had an issue. But I feed several small meals eCh day, and I also put seaweed for it to graze on, keeping it well fed. I have zoas, lps, and some montis.

Likes others have said typically the Genicanthus Angels are your most reef safe options for all coral.
Outside of Genicanthus, I have found that Potters angels are typically pretty safe with SPS, LPS and Zoas. I've had probably 6 potters in my reefing history and none have been damaging nippers.
I've had similar results with Dwarf Golden Angles as well.
I've had bad nipping from multibarred Angels, eibli Angels, black Knox, and lemon peels.

I've had a coral beauty for about 1 1/2 years and he hasn't messed with any of my corals...but I hear it is hit or miss depending on the individual fish.

I have had a venustus for almost 3 years and kept it with various corals. Never been a problem.
Also, the general consensus with angels (even genicanthus) is that there is always a risk. Always. Some just have a better track record than others. IMO, it's worth keeping angel even if they nip a little. Such personable little fish.
